MAINTENANCE SHAFTS (PVC SEWER)
Aymroo
are pioneers in the fabrication of PVC maintenance shafts for sewer
and drainage systems. Aymroo MSs are made from Moulded PVC
Fittings (AS 1260.5:2002) and PVC pipe (AS 1260.4.1999) to the
Australian Maintenance Shaft Standard AS\NZS 4999:2006.
Maintenance
shafts will replace traditional manholes, where approved.
Both the health and safety of maintenance personnel and the high
cost of construction have led Australian Water Agencies to look
for safer, cheaper alternatives, eventually removing the need for
human access into hazardous confined spaces.
Aymroo's maintenance shafts (MSs) have been appraised (PA 02\10) by
the Water
Services Association of Australia (WSAA) and are recommended for
use as an alternative to manholes by its members and associates.
Aymroo MSs are made from PVC pipe moulded fittings using PVC welding
and fibreglass techniques. The riser shaft (225mm pipe) is supplied
and cut to length by the contractor and solvent welded into the
socket of the Junction. The riser shaft is sealed with a 225mm PVC
locking or rubber ring cap. Socketed PVC fittings are provided for
field assembly using standard solvent cement and rubber ring joints.Inlets
and outlets of Aymroo MSs are supplied with solvent cement, rubber
ring sockets or adapters to other materials as required.
Approximate weight is 15kg depending on the configuration and excluding
the riser shaft.

ensure the Aymroo MS is supplied with the correct connections please
specify:
• pipe angles
• diameters
• sewer pipe material
It is also necessary to specify whether a left hand or right hand
